I have lost count of the number of times I have been to Dubai. Since my twin lives there, I love to go there to spend time with my nephew and his parents. I always make sure that I do at least a couple of days’ stopover whenever I am on my way back from Europe or US. So, I thought it would be best to write about some of the must-visit places to visit during a Dubai itinerary.

Top Reasons to visit Dubai for Indians

  • You can find cheap flights from almost every major city in India.
  • UAE visa is not very difficult to obtain for Indians. The easiest option is to apply via the airlines you are travelling with or get a visa on arrival option if you hold a valid USA visa.
  • It is quite affordable for most Indians who are travelling outside India for the first time
  • Many tour companies have Dubai package trips which are easily customizable.

Some of my favourite places to visit in Dubai itinerary

Since I go at least twice every year, I have been to some of these places multiple times. Many people are reluctant to go to Dubai since they consider it to be an artificial city. Yes, it is a largely manmade city but some of the architectural marvels in Dubai are definitely a must-see. Depending on the number of days you have in Dubai, these are some of the places to see in Dubai.

Burj Khalifa – Dubai itinerary 2 days

The tallest building in the world has to be on the list of a Dubai city tour. There is no doubt about it. It is definitely recommended to book a ticket in advance to go to the top of the world if you want to see the view from the top of the Burj Khalifa.

Dubai Mall and the Fountain – Dubai 7 day itinerary

This is right next to the Burj Khalifa and this should be coupled with your visit there. Also, don’t forget to see the lights light up Burj Khalifa once the fountain show is over.

Dubai Miracle Garden – Dubai itinerary 7 days

It is a gorgeous garden and the flower displays in different formats are definitely a thing not to be missed in Dubai. It is not open throughout the year. Hence check the timings before you head out to Dubai.

Dubai Aquarium

My nephew loves going here to see the fishes and I love being a kid along with him.

Go Shopping in Dubai gold souks or the malls – Dubai 7 days itinerary

Dubai is heaven for the shopping fanatics. If you love buying gold, then head to the old part of Dubai or head to the Spice souk to buy your share of spices. There is also no dearth of finding your favourite luxury brands and I am always scouring one of the many malls in Dubai looking for my favourite travel and personal lifestyle brands.

Go for a desert safari during your 2 days in Dubai

This is one of the most popular activities to do in Dubai. Going dune bashing in the desert is definitely something to look forward to in Dubai.

Visit Jumeirah beach during your 2 days in Dubai itinerary

This was one of the first beaches we took my nephew to when he was still an infant. He cried his eyes out but it is still one beautiful beach to head out to in Dubai.

Dubai Marina

Go around the Marina to see some gorgeous yachts.

Dubai Boardwalk

Ever since my sister moved close to the Dubai boardwalk, we go here every time I am in Dubai. There are many activities for kids to do here and that is one of the reasons my nephew loves going here.

Go for a day trip to the Atlantis

The Atlantis hotel has always been a dream hotel for many. But if you are not able to afford a stay here, try spending a day here in the amusement park. This is another popular activity for kids to do in Dubai. You can spend the day jumping out of one of the highest water slides in Asia.

Go for a Sunset Dhow cruise

If you love sunsets, then going for a Dhow cruise is one of the best ways to capture another side of Dubai.

Try some of the amazing food in Dubai

Dubai is home to a lot of expats. Which means that you can choose from a wide range of cuisines. Some of my favorite cuisines to try out in Dubai range from the Mediterranean to the oriental.

Palm Jumeirah Island

Driving through this man-made island on your way to Atlantis is always a delight. Some even rent their homes in this posh locality and if you do get a chance to stay here, don’t miss it.

Go for a day trip to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or Ras al Khaimah

The nearby Emirates also have plenty to do and if you are in a mood for a day trip, take a cab to one of the nearest Emirates.

Dubai Frame:

Truthfully, I found this to be really overrated. Unless you go in the morning, you will have to wait in a long queue just for a picture with the frame. The Dubai wings frame is also the same. However, you get the Burj Khalifa in the background.

Go for an afternoon tea at Burj Al Arab

Even though it can be really expensive to stay at this 7-star hotel, you can always indulge yourself and spend an afternoon here. It will cost approximately $150 and you can have a 7-course meal at the Skyview bar here.

  1. Hi Soumya ! Very rightly put across the places to visit in Dubai! and yes I recommend the Desert Safari among the must to do things in Dubai as its totally worth it. You literally cannot get bored in Dubai, as even if you have nothing to do ,just going around window shopping in any mall is enough to complete your day.
